Ultimately, the purchase price and payment terms are negotiated and agreed upon between the buyer and seller. As a starting point, The Distributor Exchange presents a purchase price and payment terms that it considers to be fair to both the buyer and seller. But again, these terms are subject to change as determined by the seller or as may be negotiated between the buyer and seller.
There are many factors that can affect how long the process will take for you to sell your distributorship. At The Distributor Exchange, we strive to complete transactions within ninety days.
You certainly can hire a lawyer or business advisor if you choose to do so. However, it may not be necessary as The Distributor Exchange does much more than just identify a buyer for your distributorship. The Distributor Exchange also guides you through the process from beginning to end and provides all the necessary documentation to complete the transaction. However, the Distributor Exchange does not provide legal advice and does not represent either the buyer or the seller.
Through its association with iPROMOTEu, with other industry organizations and with independent distributors, The Distributor Exchange works with a network of nearly 600 experienced distributors nationwide – most of whom are eager buyers. The Distributor Exchange identifies a buyer that it believes is a good fit for you based on geographic proximity, customer base, business style, personality, etc. If things do not work out for any reason with the selected buyer, The Distributor Exchange will seek to find another possible buyer for your distributorship.
There is no fee if you do not sell your distributorship through The Distributor Exchange. If you do utilize the services of The Distributor Exchange to sell your business, then there are two fees payable by the seller. One fee is a documentation and closing fee of $2,500; this fee can be paid out over a ten month period, if necessary. The other fee is a transaction fee equal to a small percentage of the purchase price; this fee is paid out over time from the proceeds of the purchase price.
No. While The Distributor Exchange will seek to assist any distributor with the sale of its business, The Distributor Exchange focuses on distributorships with annual sales of less than $1,000,000.

In addition to the extensive industry research conducted by The Distributor Exchange, one of the principals of The Distributor Exchange has personally been involved in the purchase of several distributorships. Through its association with iPROMOTEu, with other industry organizations and with independent distributors, The Distributor Exchange personnel have worked with many buyers and sellers and have facilitated many transactions. There also is considerable professional expertise among The Distributor Exchange personnel.
The Distributor Exchange is a division of iPROMOTEu. The concept was originally developed to assist (i) existing iPROMOTEu Affiliates who wanted to sell their distributorship, and (ii) other existing iPROMOTEu Affiliates who wanted to grow their business through acquisitions. The concept evolved into The Distributor Exchange as a service and benefit to all industry distributors interested in selling their distributorship.
